"We walked the Metsäperäläinen trail in Salamajärvi and I wondered what kind of sweater a modern-day metsaperäläinen might want to wear while trekking along the paths of Salamajärvi National Park. Inspired by traditional knitwear, I designed a yoke sweater featuring classic patterns from Northern Ostrobothnian knitting traditions and soft, mossy green wool from Finnish sheep."
Riina Meriläinen visited all the 41 national parks in Finland and, inspired by their magnificent nature, has designed a unique knitting pattern for each park. Now you have the opportunity to knit the Salamajärvi Metsäperäläinen sweater following Riina's pattern.
The pattern includes sizes XS–XXL
Available only in Finnish.
