"On the island of Örö in the Archipelago National Park, there are two memorably named cobblestone paths: Pitkä Ikävä (Long Sorrow) and Lyhyt Ikävä (Short Sorrow). Soldiers in the past have walked along these paths, finding them to be "sorrowful" for their roughness. The hooded Pitkä Ikävä cardigan is long, the color of a sandy road, that is, a dull greyish-brown, and it is decorated with a cobblestone pattern."
Riina Meriläinen visited all the 41 national parks in Finland and, inspired by their magnificent nature, has designed a unique knitting pattern for each park. Now you have the opportunity to knit the Saaristomeri Pitkä Ikävä cardigan following Riina's pattern.
The pattern includes sizes S–XL
