"The prevailing memory from our day trip to Petkeljärvi is the wind. It was a beautiful but very windy day. A strong gust lurked in the pine forests and along the ridge, tossing us around as we walked on Korkeasärkkä. The lightweight mohair yarn captures the force of the gusts, while the delicate lace pattern in the knit evokes the bark of the pines of Karelia. The color of the sweater was inspired by the trail markers on the Kuikka Trail."
Riina Meriläinen visited all the 41 national parks in Finland and, inspired by their magnificent nature, has designed a unique knitting pattern for each park. Now you have the opportunity to knit the Petkeljärvi Puhuri sweater following Riina's pattern.
