"A swamp is my favorite place. My mind rests when I get to walk along the boardwalks in the swamp. But how does a swamp turn into knitting? Sphagnum, moss, boardwalks, treeless areas, and marshes... In Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas, we also encountered a viper that traveled with us for a while on the boardwalk. Thunder rumbled in the sky, and the wind tossed the low pine trees. This national park remains in my memory as a place of contrasts; the threat of a storm and the infinite beauty of the landscape made a lasting impression."
Riina Meriläinen visited all the 41 national parks in Finland and, inspired by their magnificent nature, has designed a unique knitting pattern for each park. Now you have the opportunity to knit the Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas Aapa sweater following Riina's pattern.
